ArtViatic Breaks Record for Online Private Art Sale – artmarkeblog.com
Online private sales platform ArtViatic.com has announced that it has broken the world for the private online sale of a work of art, selling a painting by Marc Chagall for $1,725,000 (excluding fees), or $1,830,000 (fees included).

In its first year of operations, ArtViatic has realized an impressive transaction volume of €5.6 million, trading fine examples of works by artists including Max Ernst, Karl Schmidt-Rottluff, Serge Poliakoff and Victor Brauner.
The ArtViatic catalogue currently consists of around forty paintings, sculptures and works on paper, by Rodin, Renoir, Pissarro, Cézanne, Derain, Mondrian, Magritte, Picasso, Zao Wou-Ki, Richard Prince and Sean Scully among others – each estimated between €150,000 and several million euros.
